In 1978, he was part of the Minor League World Series and in 1981, he was part of the Major League World Series with the Minor Leagues of the San Ramón Valley. His team was runner-up in every game for the World Championship.

In July 1995, Erik was awarded the Topps Baseball Card Company's “Minor League Player of the Month” award.
